I took a company
from West India
to North India.

Threco — The Recycling Company is one of India's leading CPCB-authorised e-waste management companies. Established in 2019, headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra, Threco operates an 18,000 MT capacity recycling plant authorised by the Central Pollution Control Board and Ministry of Environment & Forest. They specialise in e-waste recycling, battery recycling, solar panel recycling, and Extended Producer Responsibility compliance, serving corporates, educational institutions, and bulk consumers across India. Their "Bin The Battery" campaign runs specifically to address battery e-waste at the institutional level.

How I found them

I found Threco through their social media. I was researching certified recycling organisations that aligned with what Battery Bin was trying to do, and their work — particularly the Bin The Battery campaign — matched almost exactly. I reached out to them online. They liked what I was doing with Battery Bin and what it had already achieved. We had a few meetings online where they walked me through their operations, their reach, and how they were working with institutions across Maharashtra and Western India. That's when we decided together that I was going to become their Head of Operations for North India — taking their initiative into a region where they didn't yet have a presence.

When Threco wanted to expand from West India into North India, they needed someone who already had a real network on the ground — collection points, institutional relationships, and a community of people who trusted the initiative. That was me. I used the Battery Bin network I'd built entirely by myself — the schools, the teachers, the institutional trust — as the foundation to expand their operations. I did this alone. Not as part of a team programme or a school project. From August 2026, I started collecting e-waste through these existing Battery Bin partnerships and bringing Threco's initiative to new schools across North India. I've personally collected 100 kg of e-waste as their North India representative.

Why Battery Bin made this possible

Battery Bin was never just about the bins. It was about building real institutional trust — with schools, teachers, and students who keep coming back. That network, built over years, is exactly what Threco needed to enter North India. I didn't join an existing operation. I built the North India operation using what I had already created independently — and reached out to make it happen.
